Consular Responsibilities

The Consulate aims to promote these particulars and bring them to the attention of the global community. Protect the interests of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Vincentian nationals, both individuals and bodies corporate, within the limits prescribed by International Law. Foster and further the development of commercial, economic, cultural and scientific relations between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Nigeria through the promotion of tourism, trade and investment. Work closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade, the High Commission in London and other governmental bodies on joint projects and issues. Provide advice regarding passports, visas or other travel documents to Vincentian nationals, as well as those wishing to visit, reside or invest in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Advise and recommend legal representation for nationals, when necessary. 


Safeguard the interests of minors and others whom lack the capacity, particularly with the issue of guardianship. Assist nationals and organisations of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines within the confines of our resources. Certify documents for Vincentian nationals, individuals and/or companies doing business in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Encourage annual observation and/or celebration of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' Independence Day. Involve and mobilise nationals in the Diaspora regarding the economic and social development of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Meet regularly with central and local government officials and leaders to explain Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' interests and providing information on foreign policy. Maintain links with officials, the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and its nationals within the outlined jurisdiction. 


Work with and seek out individuals, groups, businesses, government and other entities having an interest in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Help to facilitate in the donation and/or procurement for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the various sectors of the economy. Work with universities, corporations, and organisations to establish labour agreements and scholarships that would provide the opportunity for employment and/or further training. Extend assistance to vessels and aircraft, including its crew, having Vincentian nationality or registration. In addition, provide guidance on Vincentian maritime registration. Perform any other functions requested by the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, including representation at meetings and bilateral or international events/conferences.
